eTutoring – Supplemental Online Tutoring (Year-round)

eTutoring is a separate online tutoring service offered through the National eTutoring Consortium, a partnership of colleges that share tutors across institutions. It’s available to TCNJ students whenever classes are in session (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer) and supplements the peer tutoring offered through the Tutoring Center.

Use eTutoring for academic writing support and tutoring in a range of common subject areas.

Students are limited to 4 eTutoring sessions per week (across all service types combined).

Available Services

  1. Live Tutoring: One-on-one Zoom sessions with a tutor in a fully interactive online meeting room.
  2. Writing Lab: Submit a draft and receive detailed written feedback from a tutor within 48 hours.
  3. eQuestions: Post a specific question and receive a written response within 48 hours.

For Writing

All three services are available for writing support:

  • Submit a draft to the Writing Lab for written feedback in any subject or course.
  • Book Live Tutoring to discuss your draft with a tutor in real time.
  • Use eQuestions to ask a specific writing-related question.

Plan ahead: Turnaround can be same-day, but during peak times (mid-semester, finals), responses may take a day or longer.

For Course Content

Two services are available for subject tutoring:

  • Book Live Tutoring to work through course material with a tutor.
  • Use eQuestions to ask a specific question about course content.
